Confirmed: Valcon Games localizes all girl brawler, Shining Dragon

ittsd.jpgAdd one to the number of improbable PlayStation 2 localization list. I can confirm the listing for Shining Dragon on Gamefly is indeed Ikki Tousen: Shining Dragon. The PlayStation 2 fighting game known for ripped clothes is based on a manga/anime, which it seems like some Siliconera readers are familiar with. I’m quite curious how they managed to get rights to the characters and reached out to Marvelous, but those questions will have to wait until another day.

Marvelous released Ikki Tousen: Shining Dragon in Japan for the whopping price of 7,140 yen ($70) in Japan last year. I’m certain Valcon Games won’t charge that much.

The other piece of information from this semi-announcement is Marvelous is working with Valcon Games, a company with enough gall to work with obscure anime licenses. Could Valcon be a candidate for Tokyo Majin Gakuen: Kenpuuchou?

The emphasis in Hitsuji Mura is bartering your way up to livestock and herding sheep. There are other animals in the game like a number of hunting dogs, yaks and a goat who carries a sake bottle strapped on his back. […]

I already got the import but I’ll definetly get a localized version. But I wonder, would it also include that minigame bonus disc?
