Frogger 2 leaps on Xbox Live Arcade with Commando 3

We knew Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 was one of this week’s Xbox Live Arcade releases. PlayStation 3 owners got the game, minus a few days ago as part of this past Thursday’s PlayStation Store update. The price for three player shooting action is the same 800 Microsoft Points or $10 in real money. Actually, Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 is a penny cheaper on the PS3, but that penny goes towards the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix beta which Xbox 360 owners get on June 25.

Frogger 2 is a bit more interesting because it has only publically existed in things like the ESRB database until today. I thought this might be a remake of Frogger II for the Atari, but it could have been a port of the Dreamcast game named Frogger 2: Swampy’s Revenge also. Instead, Frogger 2 is another sequel to Frogger that just happens to share a name with two existing games. Frogger 2 for Xbox Live Arcade has 15 levels, new enemies, five environments, and online play for four. You can race against through levels in Race Mode or cling to a gem in Jewel Duel. Like Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, Frogger 2 costs 800 Microsoft Points ($10) when it debuts on Wednesday June, 11.

Ok that is far too much for Frogger 2. Seriously, what happened to all the 400 point games that used to come out? Its kinda disheartening considering we havn't really seen a spike in quality and content on most of these higher priced games as of late.
