No more rumors. Chrono Trigger is officially coming to North America this Holiday season. We just got a press release confirming the game exists and Chrono Trigger a “remastered exclusively for the Nintendo DS”. Remastered is Square Enix’s way of saying Chrono Trigger on the DS is analogous to something like Final Fantasy IV Advance. Same graphics, same soundtrack, new touch screen functionality and a dual screen presentation. Other new features include a new dungeon and wireless play.

Wireless play? Is this for Crono versus Crono combat or a soda chugging mini-game?

Hello Hello Says:

I remember when Square would put in multiplater battles in SNES games like Final Fantasy VI, and that wasn’t really fun at all, so I hope this wireless play is something else other than that. Maybe the Millennium Fair will have some new mini-games that’ll take advantage of the stylus, and make the wireless worth having.

Wow! It’s coming much sooner than I expected. This Christmas is going to be a very happy one ^_^

Better be three-way co-op.

I hope that there’s multiplayer for battles. I think there could be some opportunity for some good implimentation of the 2- and 3-player skills when three people are there.

It apparently also has an added dungeon, which should be good based on FF5 and FF6.

So happy!

Finally I get a chance to play Chrono Trigger without trying to find Final Fantasy Chronicles (don’t shop online too much) or pay a crap-load for the original cart.
