After Thunder Force V, Technosoft disappeared when it was purchased by a Pachinko company. Technosoft’s legacy was left as future Virtual Console releases, but like a zombie Technosoft lives. The revised Technosoft is back in business with a new Thunder Force game. The first screenshots of Thunder Force VI show Thunder Force hasn’t changed much after ten years. The graphics look better, but the series sticks with its horizontal shmup roots.
Sega plans to publish the game in Japan on October 30 for the PlayStation 2. Too bad Thunder Force VI wasn’t developed to be a downloadable game. That would have boosted the chance of a worldwide release. I’m anxious to see if Technosoft picks up where R-Type Final left off or if the Thunder Force series will make a strange transformation to a FPS space sim. Stranger things have happened.

Are you totally sure the developer is Technosoft.
Thought Sega said its not Technsoft but some other not revealed group - source NeoGAF
“After Thunder Force V, Technosoft disappeared when it was purchased by a Pachinko company.”
It’s entirely possible I’m mistaken (long night and it’s been several years) but I believe Technosoft produced games after TFV in the form of the Neorude RPGs amongst other, atypical (at least for them), fare. I can recall, vaguely, thinking “wtf” when those games kept being announced/coming out and wondering “where the hell is TFVI?!”
I really hope someone brings this to the US. PS2 isn’t dead yet.
Well it’s the Technosoft Brand, so it’s not technically the old Technosoft, owned by TwentyOne. They also have Kazue Matsuoka if K.Matsuoka is the same person who licensed the game. That’s all the Famitsu page says so it’s a little unclear.
PS2? Then wii port for worldwide release (improved graphically), better than wishing for it to be a downloadable game.
Isn’t this being made internally at Sega? I thought the Astro Boy Omega Factor director was behind it?

I have no words to describe my excitement at this news and that picture.
