Shooting tiny asteroids in Super Stardust Portable

When atomized, Super Stardust Portable is Super Stardust HD minus the HD and an analog stick. Similar to Me & My Katamari the face buttons act as a makeshift second analog stick. You guide the ship with the analog nub and shoot by pressing the face buttons. Controlling bullets is slightly less accurate as Super Stardust HD. Super Stardust Portable feels like it has eight directional aiming than free aiming since you can’t swing the flow of shots as rapidly.

Instead of spinning my thumb around the face buttons I moved my ship more to compensate for the limited range of fire. The plan worked fairly well. However, I only jumped into arcade mode and it isn’t clear if Housemarque is adding things like boss battles. PSP Fanboy notes that some features like “terrifying red enemies which will fill the entire screen in a matter of seconds” from the expansion packs are in Super Stardust Portable. There isn’t any documentation about the price of Super Stardust Portable either, but since it’s a downloadable game in North America I expect it to sell for around the same price as its PlayStation 3 sibling.
