The Nyko booth at E3 was designed together with an exhibit company to create a lounge look and feel. The use of low light, shag carpeting, and matching woolly couches created a casual atmosphere that the company has put some thought into maintaining in its exhibition presence over the years. As a result, it was one of the more relaxing spots to seek out at the event. Previously Nyko has attempted to create the same stylish ambiance on the show floor, but to cordon off a booth amidst a sea of gaming kiosks can be difficult. This year Nyko representatives could be found in their own room, spending time between meetings playing Rock Band on the company’s FrontMan guitars.
The guitars are among their leading products and work with both Rock Band and Guitar Hero, while retailing for less than the standard instrument for either title, (see the compatibility chart ). Their latest products on display at E3 included a Media Hub for the Playstation 3 for connecting three additional USB devices, and the upgraded TS model Intercoolers for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Nyko's most popular item at the moment is their Wii Charge Station — because the Wii remote can burn through its battery life quickly, online reviews have been largely positive regarding the ease of dropping the remote into the charging stand. Following suit, a rechargeable lithium ion-powered battery pack for the Wii’s balance board went on sale in May.
