Pentavision gets published in North America, introducing DJ Max Fever imagesRemember the little teaser Pentavision had about a new DJ Max project? It's not the only game coming out from Pentavision this year. We're getting a DJ Max game called DJ Max Fever when it comes out in North America on November 8. This announcement is exciting stuff since DJ Max Fever will be the first retail game from Pentavision in the West, an introduction to the DJ Max series for non-importers, and the incipient PSP game from PM Studios. That’s a lot of firsts! DJ Max veterans can look forward to 50+ songs on five difficulty levels, two player network battles, and collecting more music videos. There is still a lot of information to confirm like if this is a direct localization of DJ Max Fever, how many songs are new, and if the maniac difficulty will be kept intact. You can count on us to bug PM studios for answers.

Update: Agony points out the Metro project is its own thing which means DJ Max Fever is something else.

Update 2: I gave the sales data sheet PM Studios sent me a closer look. The follow songs are shown in a screenshot and are likely to be in the game: Syriana, Divine Service, Another Day, Stalker, Brandnew Days, Squeeze, and lost n' found. Also here's the box art from the sales sheet. I'm not sure if it's final, but it doesn't look like Pentavision made it.

So I read on IGN it's a mashup of DJMax 1 and 2 on PSP. Is that so? I still need to get DJ Max 2...I gave up on the first DJ Max Portable after a while. I didn't want to make combo's over a few thousand just to break it to unlock the next item. Then repeat until I reach the next combo limit all the way until 9000 or whatever. Waste of my time and stopped being fun. Apart from that "Make it, then break it" method to unlock items, I loved the game. It was just that method which made me fed up.

Forgive the immediate double posting but, that box art is horrible. Looks more suitable for Audition than DJ Max.
  • @Ryu Kazama - A tipster sent over a link to the IGN post which has different information than what PM sent us. Since I don't know what PM told them I can't confirm this yet, but as of now it looks like the songs shown in the fact sheet are from DJ Max 2. We'll be in touch with them to figure this out.

Yeeech, that box art is pretty awful.

SWEET! Syriana! I hope it's the mix that the play in the Technika teaser preview! I'm also hoping some of the songs with Korean lyrics get ported over too like Eternal Memory, Ask the Wind, Every Morning ...

Uh, I sincerely hope that's NOT the final artwork. But you know, I'm having a hard time deciding whether THAT artwork we see up there is more horrid than the title image for the Russian Dance (or whatever) song that was in DJMax Online Japan and China. :P

And if you do bug PM Studios, ask them to adjust some of the damn unlock requirements. Some folks don't want to grind for 2239847 hours just to unlock new gears, images, and notes. Oh, and ease up on Xtreme Challenges (from Portable 2) as well! There are what? 50+? Props to people that can even clear half of them.

Ewww!! What the hell is with the box art!? It totally does NOT look like DJ Max style; It looks like some 12 year old tried drawing a cool DJ char then threw up on it! Seriously, a girl with a fro?
  • Ryu Kazama
Nothing wrong with girls with a fro. Just not that girl.
  • The girl on the cover in the boxart looks like a Bust a Groove character.
  • Keriaku
This is amazing news. I just hope they keep the jpop/kpop, becase that's what I love about the series.

This can't be rated E for everyone. It will probably be rated T for teen because Rock-a-doodle-doo has sh*t in it's lyrics, there are other stuff for a t rating too.

I can't wait. I've pretty much played DJMP2 for the past 2 years non-stop, only got 2 missions left and I needed something new. Hopefully I'll find people to play wih now lol, solo is kinda boring sometimes...
And ewww, the box art is horrible. Why can't they just make it like DJMP1 Or 2?
