The Wireless PS3 Keypad will be released around the world this holiday season. North America gets it this November for an unspecified price. Plug the device into the back of a PlayStation 3 Sixaxis or Dualshock 3 controller to type messages in games like LittleBigPlanet and PlayStation Home. You can also use the Wireless Keypad independently by powering it with a USB cable and connecting it via Bluetooth.

The keyboard has extra keys to switch to your message box, jump to your friends list, and change the entire surface to a touchpad. Very interesting, but the surface looks bumpy so it probably won’t function the same way as a touch screen. Sony only announced the Web Browser will support the touchpad for mouse-like browsing, but it’s easy to imagine games with optional slide controls coming in the future if the accessory sells well.

Here's a picture of Sony's Wireless Keypad without the controller.
