In July, music publisher Team Entertainment announced a best-of battle remix album would be offering up reinterpretations of themes from Namco Bandai's "Tales of" series. The album is on sale today in Japan, and the official webpage has been updated with six energetic-sounding samples. They can be found at the bottom of the linked page under the Track List heading.
Based on these audio selections, it seems that if you've ever felt the music of Tales of Destiny could use a dash of the virtuosity found on composer Motoi Sakuraba's Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria arrange album, Tales of Series Battle Arrange Tracks may go some way toward serving that role. An excerpt of a triumphant prog rock version of "The Arrow was Shot" from Tales of the Abyss can be found on the site, along with remixes from Tales of Eternia, Destiny, Destiny 2 and Vesperia.
The musician behind the arrangements on this album has been keeping himself busy, with a three-disc OST for Infinite Undiscovery due for release in October. Next month will see the debut of Tales of Series Piano Arrange Tracks, performed by Sakuraba. For those living outside of Japan who are enthused about the music of the series, there is always the option of importing these items through various retailers, including Amazon.co.jp, VGM World, and Play-Asia.
