Nico Nico Douga’s popular fan remixer has released the fourth installment in his series of Mega Man vocal arrangements. This time Hyadain paints a picture of Metal Man by way of electronic metal, a brooding loner who insists his heart is made of… well, metal. It follows the stories of cool FLASH!, hyperactive Quick!! and pining Crash. As with previous episodes in the series, the video delves into the inner life of one of Dr. Wily’s robot bosses, whose oftentimes creepy love/hate relationship with the Blue Bomber is given expression through song.
Ever since users on YouTube began remixing Hyadain’s remixes with their own elaborate visuals, the singer songwriter has increasingly reached out to the online community to provide montages to complement his songs. Compare the sparseness of June’s Terra’s theme, involving a handful of still images accompanying the English-language lyrics, with the sheer complexity of last week’s Gambare GOEMON. The cinematic production values of the remixer’s Silbird, a celebration of Chrono Trigger’s Epoch, lies somewhere in between. It features a full cast of personalities differentiated through vocal variation, much like the macho Guile, grunting Blanka, and nerdy Dhalsim of The World Warrior.
