Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope Spaceship Screens, Finally You Get To Fly One

It seems like you will spend quite a bit of time in the Calnus, your spaceship in Star Ocean 4. For the first time in a Star Ocean game you can joyride in outer space instead of magically teleporting via save points. The Calnus is more than a mode of transportation too. Inside the ship is where you’re going to be crafting new items and watching private actions, a Star Ocean term for personal cutscenes.

And since you have a spaceship you’ll be visiting multiple planets. Earth doesn’t look in the best condition so…

… you might want visit other planets like Aeos.

Seen from outside reminds me of the Arwing, must be due to the blue and white combination

The game is looking GOOD. (to me anyway.) Finally! A next-gen game that has actually COLORS! Instead of only having brown, gray and orange colors only. Thanks Star Ocean 4 and the soon to be released Final Fantasy XIII in Japan. Colors! Colors! Next-gen games need more COLORS!

It looks godly good, I would get this game even if it didn’t look this great…
The third game despite critisism is one of my best rpg experiences last generation.

Hopefully this time the majority of the game will be in a future setting rather than in a medieval setting like the past few games. What is the point of having a game set in the future and then having most of the game played out in a Dragon Quest type world.
Not that I have anything against dragon quest.

I wonder if you actually get to “fly” the ship, or if it’s a point map with planets. Either way this game looks amazing. This is my most anticipated title, even more so than FF XIII. The only thing that bugs me a little is that the cg model looks a lot younger than the anime one.

Wow…this game looks very polished. Still, I wish it would be on the PS3 too…because that’s what I own, lol. I’m a huge star ocean fan. I played SO3 to death on my ps2.

Actually, the ship looks a hell of a lot like the Centurion from Wing Commander: Privateer – although the Centurion was a lot smaller.
