Have A Craving For Communication Games? Konami Has You Covered

image Just like we confirmed back in July Konami will publish their magic academy communication game in North America. However, the name Tongari Boushi to Mahou no 365 Nichi wouldn’t work here so it’s being renamed Little Magician’s Magic Adventure.

Glance at any screenshots and Little Magician’s Magic Adventure looks like Harry Potter meets Animal Crossing. I played a Japanese build of the game at Tokyo Game Show and it felt like Harry Potter meets Animal Crossing. My hands on experience was limited to fishing and playing with other tools also found in Nintendo’s Animal Crossing series.

A freeform Tokyo Game Show demo isn’t the best way to get a full impression so I spoke to a Konami rep and asked what makes Little Magician’s Magical Adventure stand out. The key difference is Little Magician’s Magical Adventure is more story oriented.  You aren’t just going to play Fed-Ex for lazy dragons. Little Magician’s Magical Adventure has specific story missions for players to complete. Along the way you’re going to meet a wacky cast of characters like an angry looking panda, a walking TV set, and a sphinx. Here’s a look at some of them.

Animal Crossing, as cute as it is has this strange quality going with it that doesn't push away older gamers like I believe Konami's game here will do -- purely judging by what's here.

But I could be wrong and this might turn out to be a hit both in Japan and the west... if it's any good.

It's done reasonably well in Japan already (around 150k sold through last time it charted). It's not a mega-hit like Animal Crossing on DS, but it's performing better than the original N64 Animal Crossing.

I'll give this a shot since I heard MySims Kingdom isn't all that fleshed out.

it looks awesome! i'm definitely checking it out when konami publishes it in NA. And as much as I like Animal Crossing, the repetitive nature of earning money to pay for your house is a major turn off; I can only play it in small increments. Little Magician looks like it's going to fix that so I am VERY excited. Let's hope it has all the charm of AC minus the redundant work, and based on my impressions, it looks like it will; so i'm going to disagree with Nabe and say that it will be even more charming then animal crossing and this is the opinion of an older gamer ;)
