XSEED "Not Forced" To Sell AQ Interactive’s Games

By Spencer . November 24, 2008 . 10:54am

image As we mentioned before XSEED is owned by AQ Interactive, but strangely they don’t publish that many games from their parent company. Even though Blue Dragon Plus and Away: Shuffle Dungeon seem like good fits for XSEED’s audience they went to Ignition Entertainment and Majesco respectively. What’s up with that?

In an enlightening interview with GameCyte, Jimmy Soga, assistant marketing manager at Xseed, explains that AQ Interactive will shop around for other publishers with titles deemed “triple-A” by AQI. So, XSEED doesn’t get to publish every AQ Interactive game and this year that might have been for the better.

As a small publisher Soga also mentions they can’t afford to their titles flop. Now, imagine if XSEED got stuck with Vampire Rain: Altered Species.
