What Do The Seventh Dragon Heroes Look Like Before Being Deformed?

By Spencer . January 21, 2009 . 12:49pm

Sega’s Seventh Dragon is known for its cutesy look and super deformed characters. I find it charming, but I’m sure others will disagree. This teaser video presents an alternate set of art, perhaps one just created for the trailer, where the heroes look like they stepped out of any generic fantasy game instead of Seventh Dragon.

Which do you prefer? The proportional or super deformed look for your heroes?

    Super deformed, definitely!

  • SD FTW! It’s a rule number one for a classic RPG! :P

  • MadMirko

No contest, SD all the way.

  • Both are cool since I really like the designs, but I’d prefer super deformed monsters!

    • lostinblue

      Super deformed all the way

They’re both in the game, the non-deformed art is in the menus and the SD art is used for the battle animations.

I personally cringed when I saw what the SD characters looked like. I totally wasn’t expecting their SD-ness to look like that.

i dont mind when theyre sprites, but when the character designs are like that .. im not too big of a fan… but i can see the charm in it.. just not for me though.

  • Both are nice. I like proportions, but I can totally see the style they’re going for and I dig it. As someone said, both are apparently viewable in some form in the game so we should all be quite satisfied =)

  • I like the SD frms better. The normal somehow makes the characters seem more generic, while the SD version gives them their own charm.
