Avalon Code Books Release On March 10

By Spencer . February 24, 2009 . 5:44pm

ac2After a series of delays Avalon Code will squeak into stores on March 10. The game starts with a choice of hero, either male or female, and a quest to recreate a dying world with the Book of Prophecy. This item acts sort of like a weapon too since you can slam the book on enemies and rearrange their weakness. Players can also use the book to to customize weapons by rearranging parameters.

Matrix Software, the team behind the Final Fantasy DS remakes, developed Avalon Code and visually it looks fantastic. If you haven’t seen the game before watch this trailer uploaded by Volcynika (thanks!!).

As a new franchise Avalon Code might fall to the wayside with tons of other portable RPGs in stores and coming in the near future. Is anyone going to pick Avalon Code up?

  • Volcynika

If there’s a demo like the previous commenter said, and I can connect to the online thing for once, I’ll decide after trying it! :o

    • Yeah there is a demo on the US channel. Good to see Xseed bringing one out I don’t recall Japan getting a demo pre-release.

  • I’ve had it pre-ordered for a few weeks. I kind of went pre-order-crazy and had about 11 games ordered from various different places.

Yep, I’m insane. I won’t have time to play them all for a while, but I’m hoping this one can keep me engaged!

  • Evila

Definitely getting this. Xseed has been picking up lots of good stuff.

  • EvilAkito

The demo was pretty fun. Not sure if I’ll pick it up though since there are about a million new DS RPGs to check out.

    • The demo was awesome. I had very little interest in the game, until I loaded up the Nintendo Channel and played it. Now I’m thinking it looks amazing and innovative.

  • PaulyG

yes, this game looks awesome, shame i live in england, will import

  • ShadowYuri

I’m buying it, day one ! I can’t wait to play this game.

  • Initially I was unsure about getting the game but watching it with interest nonetheless. Now that I’ve played the demo, it’s going to be a day one purchase, and I might just go ahead and preorder it.

  • Joanna

I have it preorder, so yes, I am definitely picking this one up. I tend to get promising yet unknown games on day one and then try to get the rest afterwards :)
