Tomy Working On A Trio Of Naruto Shippuden Games

By Spencer . March 12, 2009 . 12:22pm

tomybNaruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4, a side-scrolling beat ‘em up with the next generation of Naruto characters, is coming out here this spring. Of course, this isn’t the only Naruto Shippuden game Tomy is working on, but what other games are hiding in their offices?

Gamefly drops huge hints with listings for Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 on the Wii and Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Destiny 2 on the Nintendo DS. Ninja Destiny 2? That sounds like Tomy is going to release Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden 2 over here. Clash of Ninja 3 is more of a mystery since Tomy USA makes hybrid Naruto games for North America. I imagine they will use the models and characters from Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX, but I doubt Tomy will go backwards and hastily throw a two year old Naruto game in our stores.

After the numerous iterations, I’ve pretty much lost interest in the Naruto games, they should spice things up by making a RPG or something instead of the yearly fighter or side scroller. Even the mission based Ultimate Storm wasn’t very fun despite the excellent cel shaded graphics.

It would be cool to see them finally include Pain in the upcoming games, the latest manga has gone into a direction I never quite expected, kudos to Kishimoto for being so brave.

“they should spice things up by making a RPG or something”
They did, 3 times (America got 2 of them as DS games).

“It would be cool to see them finally include Pain in the upcoming games”
You’ll be waiting a while, the games follow the anime and the anime’s a long way from that fiasco…
