Pangya: Fantasy Golf Takes A Swing On The PSP

By Spencer . March 18, 2009 . 8:38am

Now, it’s official. Just like we discovered last month Tomy will publish Pangya: Fantasy Golf domestically. The PSP game is closer to the PC game previously known here Albatross 18.

You’ll see familiar characters (18 are playable) and tee-off at nine courses on Pangya Island. Visit them to unlock accessories and outfits for character customization and stats improvements. Pick the best gear and test your golfer in the eight player network mode. Fans of the online game can also look forward to a new story, translated into English by Tomy USA, when Pangya: Fantasy Golf comes out this summer.

  • This looks great!

it does look great. And the music in the first part of the trailer reminds me of Sonic Adventure.

Looks great. Big fan of the PC version. Spencer, do you know if it will retain the online modes that the Korean version shipped with? That was the main problem with the Wii games. This game was meant to be able to be enjoyed online.

    • Had to ask Tomy about this to be sure. Here’s what they said, “The US version will feature Multiplayer Ad Hoc gameplay for up to 8 players and will not utilize the infrastructure mode.”

God damn why even bother. This went from an instant purchase to an instant forget for me. Give them this message for me, “go screw off.” Seriously, I mean, what is the point? (shakes head)

Not surprised considering that the servers would probably be almost empty after a month or two. *cries about HSG:OT2 and the 20 minute waits to find people*

At least I can play via Adhoc Party. =D
