Tri-Ace Teases New Multiplatform RPG Project

By Spencer . March 31, 2009 . 9:09pm

Tri Ace Teases New Multiplatform RPG Project It is April Fool’s Day in Japan, but Star Ocean developer Tri-Ace doesn’t have a habit of pulling pranks like Irem. So, we’ll trust their teaser site for an unnamed RPG project is the real McCoy even though the URL is “newrpg.jp” (thanks for the tip Pesmerga00!!).

Other than falling snow and a ruined statue the page is bereft of game details. A reveal is scheduled in nine days. There is one bit of information on the bottom. Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 logos suggest their new RPG is going to be a multiplatform title, a first for Tri-Ace.

not one square-enix logo to be found. could square-enix’s b-team be going solo on this one?

Square parted ways with Tri-Ace after they decided they’d make a PS3 game. ;)

Infinite Undiscovery was sort of the first Tri-Ace without Square Enix project. Originally, Microsoft commissioned it and they still own the rights to Infinite Undiscovery. Square Enix took it over when it was stagnating in development.

Not interested. Their last three games were crap…

Besides…lack of Square Enix also means lack of a huge-ish budget. Lovely.

My wild guess is Valkyrie Profile 3: Hrist. I dunno the art work just has a VP vibe to it.

I hope this isn’t an April fools joke, I don’t really see why it would be. Its just the website URL is kinda odd.

Valkyrie profile seems unlikely given the complete absence of Square Enix.

      It’ll be a new IP I bet, I’m just curious who’s publishing?

Definately looking forward to this after how amazing SO4 was.
