Revision: I'm not a super huge fan of the main modern, stretched out 70 hour DQ entries (7,8.) But i enjoy the condensed titles like the 4 remake. I had to shout out the remakes as it feels like they were checked for thoughtful item placement, etc. rather that released once the graphics were good. (Square) They don't have to do that as the DQ remakes will sell well regardless…

you're not fan of the main dragon quest series, yet, you're a fan of the dragon quest remakes. the main dragon quest series games and the remake games are EXACTLY THE SAME! the dragon quest series hasn't changed in YEARS. it's never going to change and that's the way the japanese people like it.

Actually, wasn't a DQ Swords sequel recently rumored? Maybe it's that?

I sort of wonder how Horii plans to “seed” Wii in preparation for DQX a couple years from now? DQVII remake? Swords 2? Torneko 4? Monsters Battle Road? DQI-VI on Virtual Console?

What about that arcade Dragon Quest? That game has some sweet eyecandy. Not sure how the gameplay is like though.

I'm surprised it didn't get a DS conversion. Torneko 2-3 at least made it to GBA, and Chocobo Dungeon Wii got ported to DS.

Well I'm fascinated by that trademark. I”m still waiting for Dragon Quest IX though. With my luck DQW will be an RTS but I would love it if it were a turn based strategy game. I'd probably buy it either way.

I'm not a super huge fan of the main DQ series but the DQ spinoffs (and remakes) are suprisingly well designed (and balanced!)
