A Square Enix Trademark Draws “Nier”

With Vanguard Storm officially announced as part of the Crystal Defenders series Square Enix left another mystery for us. What is Nier?

A trademark for Nier registered for use with video game software surfaced in the US and European trademark databases. No game with the name Nier has been announced yet so this could be something new.
