TurboGrafx-16 Games Explode On PlayStation Network

imageSony is expanding their PSN classic console selection beyond PsOne games and the rare Sega Genesis game. Starting today Turbografx-16 titles are available for download.

Four titles are online right now in Japan’s PlayStation Store. Users can download Bomberman ’94, New Adventure Island, Sengoku Mahjong, and Devil’s Crush. Each game costs 600 yen ($6.50). As an awesome bonus games work on your PS3 and PSP.

Additional titles TurboGrafx-16 games are planned for distribution, but Sony didn’t announce any specific titles or dates.

At the moment the service is only for Japan, but since a working PS3/PSP TurboGrafx-16 emulator exists I bet Hudson is going to roll out the same service in North America.

Yes, but are they in HD? I’d love to get me some HD Bomberman ’94.

    • These are emulated, like virtual console games. The PS3 may clean the graphics up a bit like PsOne games, but don’t expect HD versions.

  • One almost hopes the never said Valis makes a move in on this.

I wonder if they are going to release Air Zonk? I would love that!

    • I’m sure it’s coming, but after Bonk. Count on Hudson releasing a ton of games. They didn’t make an emulator for five or six titles.

PC Engine games, there were lots of oldies like the original Tokimeki Memorial, wonder if those would come out, and Street Fighter 1..
