A Look At The “Jobs” In Final Fantasy Gaiden: The Four Light Warriors

By Spencer . July 21, 2009 . 9:40am

Final Fantasy Gaiden: The Four Light Warriors introduces the crown system, which is said to be like the job system from other Final Fantasy games. The abilities you have in battle are determined by your headgear.

Those are some sample crowns. The white hood, for example, might give a character healing abilities. Perhaps, the feathered cap makes Brand an archer. The fez and aviator cap? No idea.

Just like Dragon Quest IX and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time equipment changes the appearance of your characters too. Take a look at what kind of heroes you can create.

That’s interesting, I’m glad they are trying something new. I wonder what the native head-dress is for? :s

  • I look forward to playing as the Village People. Make it happen, Squeenix.

  • Parable

I’m looking forward to this one. I’ve been playing FF games since FFVI on SNES though I stopped playing them around FFX-2. I’ve always been a big fan of job systems so i’m glad to see a form of it implemented in this game. Hopefully a US release isn’t too far behind the Japanese release of the game… though if it is i still have FFTA2 and SMT:DS to keep me busy.

Thinking of NickyD’s response, i’d love to have a team thats the Medieval equivalent of the Village People after having seen the native headdress in the pic. Need them to include a constable/sheriff, a native, a carpenter(blacksmith?), and a sailor/pirate. I’d get a massive kick out of that.

  • Name

I had the exact same idea for a hat-based class system…..when thinking about a Wario RPG. :

  • Advent

I hope they have Blue mages… And Red mages! Those are my two fav FF jobs of all time.

I love the crown / job system idea! Really cool… Can’t wait for this one…

    • I don’t think Blue Mage is going to make it since commands are based on the crown. Sure you would have Learn, but other skills would need to be learned and it looks like Square Enix is really trying to simply FF with this.
