Magnacarta 2 & Linage II Artists Contribute To Last Rebellion

By Spencer . November 19, 2009 . 7:12pm

Hyung-tae Kim, a manhwa artist known for his work on the Magna Carta games, is helping Nippon Ichi with Last Rebellion as a guest illustrator. Drawings from Kim, Juno Jeong, and KKUEM will be featured in a visual book given as a pre-order gift. Actually, pre-orderers get two gifts, an art book and a mini soundtrack.

Jeong previously worked with Nippon Ichi and Hit Maker on Dragoneer’s Aria and his art is pictured above. See if you can guess which illustration below is from Hyung-tae Kim.

Answer (highlight to reveal!): It’s the picture on the right. KKUEM did the drawing on the left.

    what a a wonderfull combination

  • i need last rebellion……..

Wow, that’s a nice set of artists. Despite what some people seemed to think of both Magna Carta and Dragoneer’s Aria, I’ll give you a hint: it’s negative, they both had absolutely beautiful art.

Of course, this could be a premonition of what we can expect from this game, but I like to think optimistically.

  • I’m 90% sure this game is import friendly. It only has English voices, since it was made with the West in mind (always a bad idea, but I digress), so… yeah.

    • Ereek

I don’t think building this game for the west in mind was a particularly good idea, especially considering the west’s reactions to it already. There are so many negative preconceptions that it isn’t even funny, but I’m sure you’ve seen them just as much as I have.

Thanks for the heads-up! Will think of importing it.

    • you mean this will have english text like bayonetta? o.o

      • The text will probably be in Japanese, but there are only a few NPCs with irrelevant dialogue that don’t have voice-overs. Basically, the whole story is voiced.

  • Oh wow, that’s a powerhouse of illustrators indeed. Whether or not I end up picking this game up, I’ll be on the lookout for that artbook…

  • Hmm, chick posed with a particularly uncomfortable-looking arch in her back so as to emphasize her disproportionately large knockers.

    That’s HTK alright.

  • O_O i saw the trailer and im tottaly sold ……….

If only the 3D art could match the handdrawn 2D art…
