RAR! HEY that chocobo didn't have mullet braids! I'm confused, they can't have good chocobo and bad chocobos at the sametime can they!? Also it's becoming more and more noticeable that's the star trek font to me, it itches my brain.

Very funny Suntory ad w/ replenishing HP. You really can tell this is a Hamauzu soundtrack, since its style really resembles FF X or Sigma Harmonic, which is a good thing.

Sigma Harmonics was horrible. :( I don't get all the positive reviews on it on Play-Asia and stuff....

I pretty sure Aoshi was only complementing the music of Sigma, I've seen him state so on a number of occasions, while still still condemning Sigma in general.

Actually Sigma Harmonics was quite poorly reviewed and received in Jpn because it was essentially a broken game, there's a reason why it sits permanently in the bargain bin (700 yen on Jpn Amazon).

Like Joanna said, I only liked its soundtrack done by Hamauzu, which I thought it was rather excellent and wasted in the game.

Listening to FFXIII's music immediately reminds me of his distinctive style from FFX and the more recent Sigma.

So what's with all the glowing reviews on Play-Asia?

I bought that game a while ago for around 10 dollars on Play-Asia, and for a while I thought I was totally alone in thinking "This game sucks!" I was thinking "Maybe I'm just missing something...?"

So the general consensus is that it's just a genuinely bad game, and not Casey being a picky player? :(

I picked up the game at $60 when it was out and boy did I regret it. No, you're not alone in thinking this is a horrible and boring game. I've been telling people not to get it even for $10-15. It's really quite unfortunate since it has some interesting art design and a nice soundtrack.

I'm not quite sure what's w/ those reviews on P-A (people getting their 50 cent credit?). Of course one should be able to read Jpn in order to fully enjoy this game, I can read Jpn fine and I thought the puzzles were just senseless, which to me was the biggest flaw. Most Jpn users just gave 2 to 3 out of 5 stars on Amazon Jpn listing tons of problems w/ the game which I won't elaborate, you could read them up if you want,

Let's hope Final Fantasy XIII doesn't end up the same. It looks too promising.

I highly doubt it, they can't mess up the traditional turn based battles for one thing. I actually have liked all the past flag ship FFs w/ the exception of XI which was online and XII sort of pseudo online (I love it and hate it). Sigma was a portable IP that they kind of experimented w/, so..

I really like the music they use in the commercials. I think its the battle theme?

So weird, that really sounds like Noto Mamiko narrating the commercial, but the girl running is not her.. does she even have a role in FFXIII?

Very funny commercial. Almost makes me want to go out and buy either a PS3 or Xbox to play FFXIII on when it does come out, almost.

I don't know if you have these Thanksgiving and Black Friday deals in Canada, there were so many lightning sales on Amazon these past couple of days, so it was really the best time to pick up a console for cheap.

I picked up a 2nd PS3 slim since the bundle was so great, it was $299 w/ 2 games (Infamous and Killzone 2) w/ $10 credit, no tax/free shipping, and I got another $10 off w/ the Discover card promo. I didn't really like Infamous too much so I might sell it to a friend for $40. So that gives me a Slim for $240 :) Too bad the Slim can't play PS2 games though, so I still can't totally replace my old Phat. Actually I might just be a good Santa and give to my sis to play FF XIII later, and she could watch Netflix too since I just got the install disc from them.


PS. so far it seems like the characters/enemies have a ton of HP, including this girl who gets hit by a bench and a car :)

Not that I know of, boxing day is usually the day that I hunt for deals on electronics. I've found some really nice deals before (like 30 for Bully Wii and Ring of Fates). I'll keep an eye out for one then.
