Newlywed Love Plus Couple Share Their Future Plans

By Ishaan . November 29, 2009 . 9:45am

Now that the excitement has settled after the Love Plus wedding between Sal and Nene Anegasaki last week, our newlyweds are considering their future plans together. Sal, the groom, revealed in an e-mail to Lisa Katayama at BoingBoing:

“Now that the ceremony is over, I feel like I’ve been able to achieve a major milestone in my life. Some people have expressed doubts about my actions, but at the end of the day, this is really just about us as husband and wife.

As long as the two of us can go on to create a happy household, I’m sure any misgivings about us will be resolved. As for what’s next, we still haven’t gone to see my parents, so we will be going home together on New Years to officially announce our marriage.

The two of us hope to continue to let our love for each other grow as time goes on.”

Sal also mentioned that the wedding broadcast on Nico Nico resulted in 7,000 comments and that he was very pleased that some of them were from international viewers (All right, which one of you jokers was it?). Curiously, Nene had nothing to say, but I’m sure she’s thrilled.

  • I was one of them commenting until I got disconnected to make room for premium members. Free membership at Nico Nico Douga sucks.

For real what is the world coming to i’d like see his parents face when he visit them the best part is that he will be sharing his life with a DS

  • Aoshi00

This is either a joke (not funny anymore) or the guy has a screw loose. Anyway, what is he holding in the pic, I can’t figure it out.. It seems to be a red Lite (?) over a graphite Phat, is it like a custom made DS w/ the GBA port combined w/ the new DS? very weird…

    • Woah, good eye! I didn’t even notice that.

      • Aoshi00

guy has red framed glasses to match too, he’s definitely faking all this to seek attention (or mocking otaku), I don’t like it :(… The was the same guy that had the wedding in Guam right? Why did he fly all the way over there anyway, the only place legal to marry a DS?

He looks too fashionable to be a hikkikomori…

      • Aoshi00

BTW, this guy is mad indeed since that’s a Frankenstein DS :)

        • Hey, hey…you don’t talk Mr. I-just-bought-LovePlus-and-now-want-a-DSi LL. ;)

          • Aoshi00

It’s these damn holidays that got me to spend, spend, and spend :)!

          • Whew! You’re still here. I thought for a moment that you had already received the game and it was you in the picture–lost in it’s bewildering world…married =p

          • Aoshi00

I’m still in this physical plane and haven’t dissolved into little molecules yet :)

Nah, the demonic cartridge is still on back order, maybe that’s the real Nanashi no Game! But I would be getting the new Layton game first and play the English gentleman :)

Mushihime Futari-sama should be here tmw, I emailed NCSX and they said the pre-order is safe and shipping out today, yay!

    • UnleashTheCasey

      Wedding gown.

    • He’s two-timing already! Har, har, har!

    • Joanna

Yeah, that’s what I have been saying since the wedding. The guy just wants attention. No sane person would really think a DS is a person. His happy household comment proves it.

      • Aoshi00

Yeah you’re right I thought the wedding was stupid too. It was funny at first w/ the Wendy’s meals, but this is too absurd and not even remotely funny anymore, have a family, meet his parents, give me a break. Still you got to give him credit for buying plane ticket and flying all the way to Guam.. I wonder if he got want he wanted, like interviewed by TV in Japan. I actually just ordered the game to finally see what the whole fuss is about, but his intention disgusts me.

  • justinslot

Is this better or worse than that guy who carries around a pillow and pretends it’s his girlfriend?

  • Ah, the extremities of a sausage party, as demonstrated by Sal.

  • lol nene Must be thrilled xD (does she actually know she is married?)

  • kazalt

“As long as the two of us can go on to create a happy household, I’m sure any misgivings about us will be resolved.”I can’t wait till he comes home one day, and his house is torn up from the night before, the dishes aren’t done, no one’s let the dog out all day, and there’s no dinner in the stove. “WTF NENE?! I work my ass off ALL DAY, and the only thing I want when I come home is to see my loving wife and have a happy household. I did NOT marry a $%^#$%^ sloth who just lays around all day plugged into the wall! ::grabs the stylus and starts hitting the screen, crying at the same time:: sniff…why you always gotta make me hit you?”Later on he’ll drink himself to death, crying “WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE?!” Life will go on for Nene as usual, only the game she’s in gets traded in for 5 bucks at the Japanese equivalent of GameStop by the clean up crew.Honest question: If the game gets stolen, is it considered a kidnapping? What if he rages one day and breaks the game or wipes out his data? Is that murder? Better yet, what if they got divorced, and he lost everything in the proceedings?

    • I wonder if the battery dies that means she dies, too? Like what people thought when their Tamagatchis stopped working? Well, whatever happens, he has the other two girls in the game to fall back on.

I was going to say something smarmy like “computers can only be programmed to love!!!”, but then I thought, “isn’t that true for humans, as well?”. Maybe this dude is on to something. The merge of man and machine being blurred, something the great sci-fi writers of our time merely hinted at!

  • What happens if the save game gets deleted?
    Either way talk about herbivore.

  • I’m almost certain he admitted it was a publicity stunt, but his commitment to the cause is… not commendable… but… interesting. A mockumentary of otakudom, perhaps? But so subtle people think he’s for real? Hmmm.

    • Aoshi00

If so, this is almost as despicable as the recent Balloon boy stunt..

  • thaKingRocka

i’ve had both the phat and the lite, and, though i’ve never tried, i can’t imagine how anyone would go about “creating a happy household” with a ds.

  • ForeverFidelis

    “See my parents?”

My parents would beat the fuck outta me if I got married to a videogame. D:

They’re already mind slaves of Jack Thompson.

  • corti

Who else is waiting for a giant YHBT announcement, hmm?

  • Kris

    This is too bizarre.
I wonder what his parents will think of his new wife?

    • kazalt

“Dammit mom, you never like the girls I bring home!”

  • holyPaladin

Are Konami as father and mother of Nene approve their wedding?
