Tokyo Mono Hara Shi Has Megaten Style Dungeon Crawling

Tokyo Mono Hara Shi is not a branch off the Shin Megami Tensei tree, but similar to Atlus’ core series Tokyo Mono Hara Shi is also a first person dungeon crawler.

As explained in Famitsu, players explore 3D dungeons classic Megaten style and they trigger commands like jump with the face buttons. When it’s time to battle “hidden people” (that’s the name for the game’s monsters) you do it on the map. Tokyo Mono Hara Shi doesn’t transition into battle. Attacks consume AP, but it isn’t clear if fights are real time or not.

The game is due for a release in spring 2010 and so far Tokyo Mono Hara Shi is only for Japan.
