Nippon Ichi Dungeon Crawler Has A Treat For Disgaea Fans

Nippon Ichi is developing Zettai Hero Kaizou Keikaku (Absolute Hero Modding Project), a dungeon crawler with a brand new cast of characters and a customizable hero. Players can swap parts to turn the hero into a tank, a Prinny, or Laharl.

Pre-orderers in Japan receive a card that grants access to a special mission, titled Record of Netherworld War Disgaea. Clear this mission to earn Laharl, Etna, and Flonne parts. The Disgaea items can also be obtained by playing the game regularly, but outside of this mission these parts are rare items.

Absolute Hero Modding Project is scheduled for release on March 11. NIS America has yet to announce this game, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Zettai Hero Kaizou Keikaku on their 2010 release schedule.

The Disgaea cameos are not surprising, but awesome to have confirmed. I'm really looking forward to getting this localized in North America.

I especially like the fact that the pre-order bonus parts are available in the game anyway. As a completionist, I think more bonuses should provide early access to content rather than the more common exclusive access to content. You still need to preorder for the special mission itself, but this is a step in the right direction.

By the way, GameFAQs has Zettai Hero's release date as March 11, but NIS's main site just says 2010. Also, its position on their expected release timeline is after Prinny 2, which has a release date of March 25. I wouldn't be surprised if this game's release has been pushed back a bit (which is OK by me if it means a better game).
  • Nippon Ichi Japan sent out an announcement that Zettai Hero's date is March 11 earlier this month. The site, for some reason, has never carried that release date, but we're going with the official announcement until we hear otherwise.

Okey dokey. Thanks for the heads-up!

Disgaea cameos? In an NIS game? Surely you jest!

Still, that's cool. I'm more excited for the Dengeki cameos though.

it's nice to see Laharl again, he needs to be a DLC in Disgaea 3
  • TheTimelyHoward
Laharl doesn't need to be DLC for Disgaea 3 because he's already in the game.
