I'm not too fussed about the lack of translation, the more people that get the chance to play this classic the better. There's not a whole lot of dialogue in the cut scenes anyway. Definitely my favourite Castlevania game, features the best soundtrack and the most stunning sprites of the series or any 8-bit/16-bit game for that matter. The PSP remake was enjoyable enough, but the remixed OST was pretty dull in comparison and sprites beat lazy 2.5D any day of the week.

Yep, they're just lazy to make a quick buck w/o doing any work and charging us extra, especially the PSP remake (+ original) has been translated like you said.

Even though it's no excuse, it's still better than nothing for US gamers, since it's not easy to d/l from Jpn VC unless you spend another $300 importing a 2nd Wii, which I doubt many people are willing to. I have yet to purchase anything on Jpn Wii shop, I just got the black Wii to play a handful of imports like Disaster Day of Crisis and Another Code R.

P.S. actually I did buy one VC, it was the Genesis shooter MUSHA, I just felt like getting the Mega Drive version :) If they have Area 88 (UN Squadron), I'd jump right on it.

Although it's nice to play the PC Engine ver. on the big screen, I'm not getting this since I've played the PSP remake a lot alrdy.

Thanks for the clarification, and my point still is: People who can comprehend Japanese would probably find means of getting Japan's VC offerings, and those who don't would probably appreciate the most rudimentary of localizations (unless the PAL region's video conversion is in consideration; that's a bit more important than text, eh?).

If you own a Jpn Wii, yes, then you'd be able to d/l from Jpn VC, in fact, you're able to ONLY d/l from Jpn Wii shop. The contents you're allowed to access only depends on the region of your system, but not where you are. Also unlike PSN or XBLA, you could use your US credit card on Jpn Wii shop provided you have a Jpn system.

Otherwise no, you can't just make up a Jpn account like you do w/ PS3 or 360.

Would an imported Wii be able to make an account associated with its intended audience country? That is, can'tcha make a Japanese account on a Japanese Wii, even over here?

Here's hoping they just mean the voice track. For a Castlevania that tries to have a narrative beyond the manual, it's pretty bunk to release it on an English service in Japanese, especially when the PSP port (and its remake) has an official translation. If US players wanted TEXT in Japanese, wouldn't they make a Japanese account?

Tell them to stop and translate it.. If we are smart enough.. dont buy it until they include it in English.
