Witch’s Wish Casts A Spell On North America This Spring

In Witch’s Wish you play as Vicky, a girl who dreams of being a witch, but only rich girls can become witches in her town. Luckily for her a mysterious girl brings out her magic potential which means you get to go on a quest to save the town.

Witch’s Wish has touch screen magic duels where players trace spells. More pictures of the runes and battles are below.

Tryfirst originally released Witch’s Wish in Japan under the name Majo ni Naru. Pretty surprising to see Natsume grab this, but then again the picked up Adventures to Go and are publishing Squishy Tank. Natsume is doing a lot more than Harvest Moon. Wonder if they’ll grab Sakura Note since they have an amicable relationship with Marvelous.

Looks cute. I'll probably pick it up.

  • Dark_Sage

She should come to America where any girl can become a witch (and most of them are).

  • bubbabutt

I'd like to see them pick up Sakura Note too.

  • EvilAkito

Yeah, just make sure not to tell her that we descended from puritans.

This looks too cute to pass up.

  • Pichi

Love the art style and storyline. Glad it was this game after all, so on my list to get.

Dude, I'd like to see just about anyone pick up Sakura Note.

  • Somato

    This game looks ridiculously cute.
I may just have to buy it. The art reminds me of Yukimaru Katura's work.
Also, there seem to be a lot of Japanese games about witches. What's with the witch infatuation?

I enjoyed Adventures to Go for some time, then it got real repetitive. Still an above average game!

    This looks OK too.

Oh! Never see this one coming!

  • TheCleaningGuy

    Looks cute, hope it's good!

I saw previews of this game a little while back. Never would have expected to see this here. It just looked like one of those games that were too “peculiar” to expect any publisher to bring it over, but I'm glad Natsume did. My niece might enjoy this.

Honestly, instead of going after Sakura Note I'd rather them team up with Genterprise to localize Umihara Kawase DS. Sakura Note looks like it would be bigger project to localize and I don't think it'd be worth it to Natsume. Also, I hope they're working on Rune Factory 3, even though it's probably not a small project either there's a fan-base for them.

    GIVE THIS MAN A MEDAL!
Seriously, I'd love to not have to pay out the ass for an Umihara Kawase game, and the DS one is supposed to be fantastic. Rights might be a problem though, since Ubisoft was going to localize the PSP version under the title “Yumi's Odd Odyssey” (ugh).

Oh, I remember seeing the original game on Game Center CX.
After taking a look it seems the PSP version is slightly cheaper than the DS version. Hmm… I'm actually interested in this game now.

  • jj984jj

It wasn't Ubisoft, it was Natsume. I thought that name was a perfect fit for the game but they put it on “hold” due the issues with that version. The PSP version was published by MMV in Japan though, while the DS version was published by Genterprise so who knows if they'll be able to bring over the DS version instead.

So what exactly is this game about?
    Is it an RPG?
Or like an Animal Crossing style game??

  • Pichi

That's my concern as well. Since the PSP version is too buggy, Natsume probably changed their mind to bring that version over. Hope they are able to get the DS one.

I descended from Italians and French. Guess I was lucky to avoid the puritan BS!

  • Joanna_T

This is a pleasant surprise. Natsume really is interested in trying different things like when the published Princess Debut.
