Half Off Xbox Live Arcade Campaign Kicks Off On Friday

By Spencer . March 31, 2010 . 9:49am

imageOn April 2, Microsoft is temporarily slashing prices off Xbox Live Arcade games like Ikaruga in Japan.

Bionic Commando Rearmed, Lumines Live, Buku Sudoku, Mad Tracks, Schizoid, Defense Grid: The Awakening and Ikaruga drop from 800 Microsoft Points ($10) to 400 Microsoft Points ($5). R-Type Dimensions and Puzzle Quest: Galactrix also get a 400 point price break bringing each title to 800 and 1,200 Microsoft Points, respectively.

While Microsoft usually has worldwide sales, this promotion has only been announced in Japan so far. And Microsoft Points are more expensive in the Land of the Rising Sun so this isn’t a deal for us… unless Microsoft suddenly springs as sale on us.

The Xbox Live Arcade half-off campaign runs on April 2 @ 6PM to April 7 @ 6PM.

Hmm, this list of titles seems to be different from what Xbox UK posted on their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150161402815307

The UK list lacks Bionic Commando Rearmed, Buku Sudoku, Ikaruga, R-Type Dimensions, and Puzzle Quest Galactrix but has other titles like South Park and Wallace & Gromit 1 instead. Interesting. According to http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2010/03/23/xbox-live-marketplace-release-schedule-march-23.aspx we’ll probably see US sales run from tomorrow to April 7th.

Ikaruga was on sale here before for 400 pts too, it was a great steal. It’s funny I couldn’t finish it on GC but was able to on XBLA, maybe the graphics is crisper and controller better, too bad it’s missing the art gallery you could unlock though..

In for Age of Booty, possibly Schizoid & Defense Grid. Hrmm.
