Mario has a brand new suit in Super Mario Galaxy 2. When Mario touches a Rock Mushroom he can transform into a giant boulder and roll over enemies.

Power ups from previous games – Bee Suit, Ghost Mario, Fire Flower, and Yoshi also return in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Yoshi, like Mario, has new tricks such as a Dash Pepper powered wall running and inflating like a balloon when he eats a Blimp Fruit. See screenshots of those below.

I don’t want to go into semantics but you kinda make it sound like Yoshi was featured in the first Mario Galaxy as well (“Fire Flower, and Yoshi also return in Super Mario Galaxy 2″). Anyway, I’m interested in the rock suit, wonder if it controls like the circus ball in the first Galaxy or regular controls.

I’ll have this, thanks. I just hope the world will be bigger and less linear than SMG1. Make it more like SM64, Nintendo.

That was in the first game, too, wasn’t it? I remember it being in one of the grassy galaxies.

Yes it was… and that was the exact point where I stopped playing Super Mario Galaxy. :(
