Four PlayStation 3 Games Leaping Into 3D

By Spencer . April 15, 2010 . 2:16pm

imageThis June, Sony will release the first wave of Bravia 3D TVs and four stereoscopic 3D games to play on your PlayStation 3.

Super Stardust HD, Pain, Wipeout HD, and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift will be ready in June. Purchase a Bravia 3D TV in Europe and the four game* bundle is a freebie. The asterisk is there because MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is just a demo and Pain only comes with three episodes. I played Super Stardust HD in 3D and it has cool particle effects, but that’s probably not enough to run out and purchase a 3D TV.

While Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announced this promotion, they didn’t say how much the Bravia 3D TV costs or announce a price for any 3D patches or 3D versions of already published titles.

Wait, I’m confused? You need a TV that supports 3D to play 3D games?

      duh.
[its hard to not sound like an asshole now but...]
Look into how 3d works on wikipedia, you’ll need a new TV or some other way to make stuff appear 3d

rar, T_T” I figured it was something more like how they handle 3D films, not something different all together. rar, considering how many definitions and concepts of 3D being thrown around lately, from stuff handled with cameras, gyroscopes, some needing 3D glasses, to apparently this 3D TV thing, I don’t think it’s that unreasonable to be confused… especially since the vaguely defined “3D” has been accomplished on lots of stuff already, without special screens.

But seriously, if they are expecting people to buy new TV’s for this — maaan even the Virtual Boy had better odds.

Hey, graphics whores, why not buy yourselves a PS3 and quit whining about the Wii?

I don’t know if I already said this before, but the PS3 seems to be a mix of a love letter/TAKE THAT to graphics whores.
