Final Fantasy IX Ready For PlayStation Network

By Spencer . May 3, 2010 . 9:08am

imageResident Square Enix tweeter and producer Shinji Hashimoto hopped on Twitter to make a small announcement.

Work on the digital re-release of Final Fantasy IX is finished. Depending on a test play, Final Fantasy IX could be available on Japan’s PlayStation Store soon. Hashimoto said more information expect more Final Fantasy IX information during Golden Week, which is this week.

No news about North America, but there isn’t any reason for Square Enix to skip a digitally distributed version of Final Fantasy IX. Still strange that Vagrant Story hasn’t popped up on PlayStation Network when Europe has it.

Hopefully it will come to the US PSN soon. I’ll probably buy two $20 cards for Hexyz Force, so I can buy FF9 with the remaining money.

Whats the point of even delaying it like that; from Jpn to U.S.? Its not like they have to translate it or anything.
iPhone’s Chaos Rings by them was a simultaneous release. And that was a NEW game

I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure FF7 and FF8 were both delayed.

More opportunities to sell off any remaining physical copies?

Greatest hits pressing secession date unknown. No data as to the stickiness of PS1 sales to PSN titles but the assumption is that no correlation is present due to the different platform audiences. (Digital-Portable/Physical-TV)

A lack of regional organizational autonomy is more likely the final culprit of a release gap given the flow of informational releases.

I just got a 3000 yen ticket, must refrain from blowing 1,500 yen on this and save for future Heavy Rain Chronicles DLC…

I´ll be waiting for this as well as for Einhänder, Front Missión 3, Xenogears, Parasite Eve (1 & 2)… T.T

      AGREED AGREED AGREED AGREED!!!!!!!!

I want to beat Parasite Eve already. I’m ashamed of myself, for not beating it, when I was a kid. I’d like Chrono Cross too.(So I can finish that too!!)
