Monster Hunter Felyne Spinoff Dated, Priced, And Hello Kitty-ed

imageLooking for a Felyne life simulation? MonHun Nikki: Poka Poka Airu Mura (Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Felyne Village) is the game for you and it’ll be in stores on August 26.

Capcom set 3,990 yen ($44) as the price, which is way lower than the average PSP game in Japan. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, for example, sold for 6,090 yen ($68) on day one. Perhaps, Capcom is looking at MonHun Nikki as a low price gateway into the Monster Hunter universe? Like the Monster Hunter Freedom series, Monster Hunter Diary supports ad-hoc cooperative play.

Another tactic that’s sure to drum up sales and attention is their partnership with Sanrio. Hello Kitty crossover items are in the game plus Sanrio is making limited edition Hello Kitty plushies for the real world. Every launch copy comes with a product code. Punch it in and you’ll be entered in a drawing to win one of 50 Hello Feylne or Felyne Kitty plushies. 1,000 other entrants receive an original Felyne phone strap.

Is that supposed to be a Tigrex?

Now I seriously want this game. Too bad it won’t go out of Japan.

Normally I would agree, but… I’d say there’s a tiny chance of coming seeing as the PSP PSN store carries “actual” games on it, along with: zero publishing costs; making some games that, if released on retail would be major flops, actually viable.

I guess it’s not that text heavy and stuff… If I was interested in this I’d definetly bug Capcom and Sven on their forums.

    • I don’t know about that. I’d wager this will come to North America since it expands the franchise. Plus there’s that whole localized Monster Hunter URL we found out that Capcom has since changed.

  • Argh!! The look of cuteness has pulled me in like a black hole! Me wants!

Very displeased and disappointed that the plushy is not included with the game. I mean, not the regular edition, a deluxe edition would work. Hello Kitty with the cat hat looks much nicer than the cat with the weird Hello Kitty hat.

  • I have to have this! I love Hello Kitty!!!!!!!

  • Monster Hunter Felyne Spinoff feat. Hello Kitty? LOL, this was bound to happen! Now I wish Capcom would make this for Wii too. It’s too cute to pass up on. :D/
