What Else Are Natsume Bringing To E3? [Update]

By Ishaan . June 9, 2010 . 8:38am

Update: Natsume just confirmed via Twitter that Rune Factory 3 is releasing in North America this winter.

Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals, for one. Along with Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar. And finally, something called Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove. We hadn’t heard of this one until today either. It’s a rhythm game where you try to reclaim Gabrielle’s soul — which she somehow sneezed right out of her body — in a place named Monster Town.

According to Natsume, “Only by busting out the ghostliest dance moves and thrilling and chilling people will she be able to scare up the power she needs to get herself back into her body! It’s a spooktacular rhythm adventure!” Judging by the screenshots, Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove could very well have some extended mainstream appeal.

  • Natsume knows how to win me over with cuteness.

It looks like it’s set up like Princess Debut. Cave isn’t developing this, though, huh? :P

    • jarrodand

lol, I saw the screens and immediatly thought Cave too.

  • What’s the original name of Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove?

    • Working on it…

Tinycartridge suggests that its a new game not released any where yet. Here’s what they said:

This is actually a new game, previously unreleased in other territories, co-developed by Natsume and Santa Entertainment (Cheer We Go). The Japanese and U.S. editions are expected to ship around the same time.

Intrigued by the art, so I’m a bit interested to learn more.

      • Aha! Thanks, Pichi. I was going to try and figure it out for B4U but got caught up with some of the features for this week and E3 prep. :)

      • Specifically, you mean this is a new game by Natsume itself?

Also, I find it hard to believe a smaller publisher like Natsume is gonna attempt a simultaneous release.

        • Pichi

All I know is what was reported by Tinycartridge, sorry about that!

          Your welcome, Ishaan!

  • Wohoo natsume is going on a roll!

  • Nekobo

Are you British, Ishaan? Just wondering because of the way you use the word are to denote a company.

Anyways, I hope I bump into you guys at E3 next week. It’d be nice to meet the folks behind one of my favorite gaming sites. :)

    • Hahaha, no I’m not British! I’m Indian. But British English is my first language. :)

Thanks for the kinds words. Unfortunately, I’m a little too far from LA to make it to E3, but Spencer will be there, so you can stalk him all you want! I’ll be handling the news updates and stuff on the site during the event. :D

      • And I’ll be at E3 as well. :D

        • Kris

That reminds me, any of you guys going to PAX? That’s over near me, and I’d love to meet you lovely people.

  • malek86

This reminds me, I still need to check out Witch’s Wish. Anybody played it?

    • M’iau M’iaut

Quite worth the $20 price point. Magic is cast using the standard ‘draw runes with the stylus’ but the cute factor and character interactions make for a fun experience. The games chapters are well built for small bites of time handheld gaming.

      • malek86

What about a higher price point? From here, I will have to spend at least $30 for importing it.

      • Kris

That’s already out? I forgot about that game!

      • M’iau M’iaut

It is gonna clock in on the short side, and the only real challenge is when you’ll need to write a rune or two from memory. Yet, for those who can enjoy the kawaii side of life, I would be willing to throw down $30.

Blue hair, piggy tales and moe magical girls for da win!

Gabrielle‚Äôs Ghostly Groove looks like it would play a bit like Elite Beat Agents. At least, that is what it looks like from the screenshots on the left side. I don’t mind the idea of an adorable Elite Beat Agents.

    • ShinNoKami

XD;; I was about to say it looked like a lolitagoth version of Ouendan.

  • *gasp* Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove looks ADORABLE!

    • I kept thinking to myself, “Wow, Jenni is going to love this…” while writing the post up. Not kidding.

      • You were so right! And the preview picture even had an sweet little black cat! XD

I’m so hoping it’s playable next week.

        • I’m sure all of their stuff will be playable. :)

I want RF3 impressions! You’re totally doing those, right?!

          • Of course. I made an appointment. :D

The problem is, I want to play ALL of their games! All four sound so cool and good!

          • Awesome! And I believe we’re going to be talking to Graham, too. Exciting times. :D

  • Oh Natsume, you know how to capture my heart.

Oh region locking/delays… how I loathe thee.

  • Zefiro Torna

Seems like this game is getting a WiiWare companion? Spooktacular Edition:

    • Woah, nice catch! I knew I should have looked at that PDF but it slipped my mind…They have a couple other Virtual Console games mentioned, too. Might be worth a new post entirely. :)

Edit: Ahh, those VC games are already out. I totally missed that! Still posting this, though.
