More Pokémon From Black & White Revealed

Another day, another CoroCoro magazine leak. This time around, CoroCoro showed off a bunch of a new Pokémon, and as always, a bunch of dedicated sites including Serebii and PokéBeach got the scoop earlier than intended. Following is the new info available to us, with pictures that you can click to enlarge.

First up is Chiramii, a Normal-type. Its abilities include Cute Charm and Technician. One of the moves it can learn is called Sweep Slap, which hits multiple times.

Next is Mamepato, presumably your early game Normal / Flying-type. One of its new abilities prevent its defense from being lowered.

And then, you have Meguroko, a “Desert Crocodile” Ground / Dark-type. Interesting combination. Meguroko’s abilities are Intimidate and Earthquake Spiral. The latter raises its attack stat when it knocks another Pokémon out.

Below is Gears, a “gear” type Pokémon. It comes with either the Plus or Minus abilities, and is a Steel-type.

Now, we come to Shimama — a “charged Pokémon,” who is, naturally, an Electric-type. Shimama comes with either Motor Drive or Lightningrod as its abilities. Its Wild Volt attack does high damage but also hurts Shimama in the process.

Almost at the end! The one below is Hihidaruma, a Flaming Pokémon. Its ability is called Encourage.

And finally, we come to Mun’na, a “Dream Eater” Psychic-type. Its abilities are Forewarn and Synchronize, and one of its attacks, Telekinesis, can raise opponents into the air. Bet you anything Mun’na evolves into something way more cool-looking.

      That one can wait until Sunday when it’s confirmed. I thought it was interesting, too, but it’s the only unconfirmed rumour of the bunch so far!

Chiramii is my favorite of all those, that guy is so dang cute. I think I’m more interested in seing all of their evolutions. Come on, Nintendo! =P

I really like that pigeon for some reason. The fire daruma, the dream eater and the gears are cool too. The croc and the new electric I’m feeling pretty indifferent towards. And I’m not liking chiramii at all. Overall I’m happy with this batch.

rar, I’m like them all minus the gears, which look like a Wario Land enemy, but if they were a Wario Land enemy, they’d also be a pirate! Which would inherently make them better!

1. I wonder if Shimama’s Wild Volt is the Electric type’s Head Smash.
2. Sorry, Hihidaruma, Stealth Rock will make you its little bitch.
3. Munna, I hope you’d be Psychic/Dark, should you evolve. Forewarn + Psychic/Dark = Watch out for Scizor!

5. MamePATO, you remind me of the Mukus. Muku is the HAWK, you’re the DOVE.

    The only time people will stop using Stealth Rock is when Salamence gets bumped into an Uber.

      I suppose they can’t really nerf it what with the connectivity to the old games. rar, I can dream! I can dream, of a day when all pokemon no longer have to fear the stealth rock >w<!

I wish they weren’t all so…curvy and circular. More sharp edges. They all look too cute. Sure their evolutions might look more tougher (and sometimes more uglier) but still. Even Hihidaruma, which I think is a good concept monster, is too cute looking.

Though, this is only a handful of whats to come. How many Pokemon do they plan on having this generation?

  Hilariously enough, pato means duck (yes, a la Ugly Duckling) in Spanish, considering MamePATO’s name.

    That is a funny name taking into account that mame means to suck/suckedor something to do with sucking that makes the name translate to something like Sucked Duck.

      I was confused, then I realized you were talking about “mame” in Spanish. In Japanese I think it means something like “Little Pigeon”. I’m guessing you’ll see these a lot around Hiun City.

      I hope they DO give MAMEPATO English and especially Spanish names; I can only imagine the innuendo in the Spanish-language version, which might come out as “Suck a duck”.

Dream eater? Munna evolves into a drowsee. Those abilities kinda gave it away. I hope hypno’s stats are better in this game.

Busy week for me, so I’ll add my two cents in now. :P

I’m really liking the designs this Gen. Not one that I dislike so far (well maybe with the exception of the fire starter…don’t like that design much).

The first two pokemon, the mouse and the pigeon, look like they were made with an eye to what the overall feel of the region would be like. Mice and pigeons are typical residence of large cities. I wish they would do that more often with pokemon games. It would make each land feel special.
