Microsoft’s Kinect To Cost $149?

While Microsoft haven’t publicly revealed a price for Kinect, a Gamestop listing prices a standalone purchase of the device at $149. Bundled with the new Xbox 360, however, the purchase will cost $299 or $399, depending on whether you opt for an Arcade bundle or an Elite bundle.

Additionally, it would appear Kinect launch titles Kinect Adventures! and Kinect Sports will retail for the usual $59.99.

Many thanks to Christopher Barth for the heads up!

Microsoft should be smarter than this because i see a potential fail, so i don’t think they are stupid enough to do this but if they do i see it failing hard. I won’t comment on kinect but the kinect games look like wii and sure do not look worth the price of a next gen title

    what!? half the xbox!?

I’m really not doubting the high price anymore as MS had the chance to say it, even announced a release date of Kinect but still no price on it.

LOL @ the initial MSRP. Right now, I can see Microsoft, charging US$120 on games, just to keep Kinect on a low price tag (beside/aside from graphics, R&D, and the redesign of 360).

They just signed the Kinect’s death wish before it’s even out :X

The price for the new system including Wi-Fi/HDD all in one is perfect, but this is NOT smart, I was expecting it to cost ~$60, or $80 max, doesn’t it need to be compete w/ Move? I wonder how much those wands cost. The new bundle would definitely get Kinect in people’s homes, but not this standalone, not at this price..
