God Eater Burst Explodes With New Characters, Scenario, And Aragami

imageNamco Bandai’s expanded version of God Eater has a second helping of story. God Eater Burst’s new scenario takes place three months after the events of God Eater where Johannes von Schicksal accidently dies. You’ll meet new characters and slay new Aragami, like Hannibal pictured below.

Players have some new tricks to fight off Hannibal. Burst mode includes additional actions like a rapid attack and a charge move for hunts. Namco Bandai also created an Avatar Card system where players can trade cards of their characters with each other. These cards act like computer controlled companions in other player’s game. Sounds similar to the ghost fighting mode in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. God Eater Burst also has new missions, weapons, and costumes –including a bear suit and nurse outfit.

God Eater Burst is slated for release this fall in Japan. Own God Eater? Then you can upgrade with an append disc for 2,100 yen ($23). The append disc requires the original version of God Eater. A standalone game will be available too for 5,229 yen ($58).

    Rindou-san is alive!!

    • But, he wasn’t wearing that Red Jinki bangle that all the other G.E.s have (And that he had when he disappeared). I wonder why?

  • nyobzoo

    whoa, spoilers?

    • lucy1986

Ahh, now I know who dies! *cries*

  • evilmoogle

I assume that Burst IS GodEater+.

Now i hope the US/EU version gets this version.

    • Code

Yeah from what I heard chances are we’ll be getting this version, which is why we got a little bit of a delay.

    • raymk

Yes this is the version were getting this is why the U.S version was delayed

  • Code

rar! nice! I like the notion of “guild card” letting you use your friends characters as computer controlled allies! Although it’s still maybe a few games behind Monster Hunter, God Eater really feels like starting to get some steady footing, and has some creative ideas. I’ll definitely be playing when it comes out here.

  • Whoa, im a sexy back

  • “God Eater Burst’s new scenario takes place three months after the events of God Eater”. So that means this IS a sequel huh, unless they include the events of God Eater into God Eater Burst and make it like Persona 3 Fes. Well whatever, I just hope Arisa is still in Burst.
