5pb’s PSP Horror Adventure Game

By Spencer . July 19, 2010 . 12:28pm

Not all “adventure” games are straight up visual novels. Corpse Party: Blood Covered – Repeated Fear from 5pb and Team GrisGris has a map to explore. The interface, which you can see a bit of in the above trailer, looks like a spooky 16-bit game.

Corpse Party: Blood Covered – Repeated Fear follows a group of Kisaragi high school students. The school they’re enrolled in has a tiny problem. It was built on top of an elementary school, which was destroyed after a series of grisly murders. The two schools (and ghosts) collide in Corpse Party.

Here’s how the game starts.

…What if Kojima ends up working on Corpse Party 2?

    • Yuan

While Corpse Party is published by 5pb., they’re not the original creator of the title. It was a doujinshi game. So I don’t think their collaboration will be the sequel of this.

Man… These horror visual novels are way creepier than horror movies and horror novels.

Corpse Party sounds more like a messed up board game than a adventure title.

are you serious? it’s like watching a movie about a seemingly adorable but actually psycho kid.

      • cowcow

Chuckie’s Back? Sorry not scary. Not even the Omen was scary to me. Maaaaybe Boys from Brazil. Maybe. But a cartoon? lol no.

This looks pretty interesting. It kinda gives off a Higurashi-like vibe.

I wonder if theres enough gameplay for someone to consider a US release?

  • http://www.twitter.com/christaran Chris Taran

I loves me a good corpse party!

  • EvilAkito

US release please?………….. Hey, a guy can dream, can’t he?

    • http://several-hours-into-the-game.blogspot.com/ Nika

      Dreaming is always allowed ;)
Maybe a horror game would actually stand some chance to be localized. Or that is what I keep telling myself.

Ain’t this based on a doujin game? I swear i had seen this game before lol :)

    • http://www.siliconera.com Spencer

Yes sir it is! Actually a doujin remake, but I believe you’re thinking of Corpse Party: Blood Covered.

This game is by far the most interesting looking of any upcoming releases.

  • masuto

Well, Aksys’s 999 is testing the water in the horror visual novel genre.
