Watch The Street Fighter X Tekken Debut Trailer

Like Capcom’s other crossover titles, Street Fighter X Tekken will include Tag Team combat where players select two fighters and will be able to use knockout assist attacks and special combos. The game is being developed on the Street Fighter IV engine, and produced by SFIV producer, Yoshinori Ono.

“This is history we’re making,” Ono says. “Two fighting games that have rivaled each other are finally standing on the same stage. This isn’t just a showdown between Tekken and Street Fighter, but a decisive battle for Capcom and Namco Bandai Games. So I’m going to give it my all.”

Decisive battle, huh? It does sound like the two are engaged in a friendly rivalry of sorts, which will no doubt be a heated topic of debate (and fan-fiction) for many years to come.

What about a release date, you ask? Here’s what Capcom have to say on the subject:

  • Oh My Lord!…..I WANT TO PLAY THIS!…The only thing i hope if its not Super Street Fighter 4 with just swapped out people.

    • That’s exactly what I’m hoping for, incidentally.

      • Thats cool man. Lol im not a hater and respect ur opinion. Im still gonna buy both versions tho lmao. AND THEY BETTER PUT PAUL IN THESE GAMES.

    • raymk

well did you buy ssf4 see its a game with rebalanced characters. If your not a hardcore fighting fan then your probably not going to like this game.

      • Yeah I’ve been playing both games since their very 1st iterations. I mean i dont mind it being similar to SSFIV But i just dont want it to basically be the same thing. Honestly if it is SSFIV with swapped out characters im still gonna buy it. Im more hyped about Namco’s version tho. (Considering I like Tekken more)

It would be hard for me to have less interest in a crossover game than this one.

    Nope, didn’t work.

  • RAVENKam

Tekken was never my thing so this cross over doesn’t really interest me. Yoshinori Ono producing does. What to think? I’ll wait and see.

  • karasuKumo

Dammit Tekken get lost first you intrude Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and now this :( I guess they realised they’ve made too many of the Tekken series so now they’re trying to flog off crossovers :| Not interested.

    • cowcow

Oh shut up no one cares what you think

  • joesz

It’s not that I’m not interested in the game,But, I was more interested in megaman get chased by pac-man.

  • ThunderGod_Cid
    • Draparde

Yeah game-play made me alittle more hyped for it…considering i was not hyped at all that was a good thing xD

  • We get it Capcom, you’re an AAA developer with your blockbuster stuff. You’re the best at making action games and fighting games and releasing the latter at a rate compabrable to the 16-32bit era.

Can the fans of your other stuff have some games now :/

  • eliel

1 step closer to Namco(maybe Bandi too) versus capcom

  • xxx128

    LOve the pacman part :)
Oh yeah neato idea, makes you wonder why not years ago.
Anyway i am pumped for this. And i really hope its nothing like the awful cap vs snk titles.

  • masuto

I apologize but…SFIV is butt ugly compared to Tekken.
