The King Of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match And KOF Sky Stage Delayed Until Fall

By Spencer . August 4, 2010 . 3:48pm

imageThe King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match and KOF Sky Stage were supposed to keep Kyo fans busy this summer, but neither game will make it on to Xbox Live Arcade then. SNK quietly rescheduled both games for this fall on their Xbox Live Arcade calendar.

Specific plans to publish these games in the States have not been announced. However, the ESRB rated The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match for Xbox 360 and we haven’t missed out on an Xbox Live game from SNK to date.

The PS3 deserves KOF 2002 Unlimited Match. It’s the greatest KOF game I’ve ever played and would fit perfectly with my PS3 collection…

But that would make too much sense!

Hopefully this delay ensures the netcode is as good or better than NGBC which is actually halfway good… compared to Garou and ’98 UM’s which are craptastic.

  • It’s really for the better this way. With Continuum Shift fresh out (and SSF4 not -too- far back) KoF2002 probably would have been overlooked by the majority of fighter fans who would otherwise pick it up. (Plus more time to optimize netcode wouldn’t hurt, although SNK’s track record shows that’s not really a concern)

Why XLBA only?? Why not PSN? WHY NOT PSN?????

    • Because Xbox Live is the place to be?

If you want to take a poop then yeah!

Is the XBLA release going to be based on the PS2 port, Tougeki version, or arcade release?

A delay!? In an SNK-Playmore developed game!? Well, that’s typical for them.
