Screenshot_0032Classic Dungeon, better known as Cladun: This is an RPG in North America, is coming out soon. Before Atelier Rorona soon.

NIS America set September 7 as the game’s release date. Look for Cladun: This is an RPG on the US PlayStation Store then. Atelier Rorona comes out a few weeks later on September 28.

Looks like I’ll be using my PSN credit soon.

    • Ereek

Seconded. I can’t wait. I’ve been watching this one for a while now.

  • I really wish they’d get the message that games this niche aren’t going to make a profit, certainly not on the PSP. Try the iPhone or forms of digital distribution guys!

    • malek86

I’ll have you notice that this game is a PSN exclusive, so yeah, it’s digital distribution.

(cue whiners who won’t buy a game unless it’s on a physical format)

      • According to what I’ve read it will be downloadable, but will only work on the PSP. I’m praying you’re right about this though.

        • malek86

It’s already been confirmed. The american version will only be downloadable from PSN (unlike Zettai Hero, which will also come out on UMD).

          • Yuan

Maybe he meant, he wish it’s also playable on PS3?

          • malek86

Well, considering I have yet to see any downloadable PSP game that also works on PS3 (excluding Minis), that sounds like too much wishful thinking.

^ Okay… AWWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwww… Sony sux, I want teh disc version.

    • Code

rar, did someone just recommend Nippon Ichi switches to iPhone? I’m not sure who you are, but I’ve never been more sure that you are an enemy — I will end you +_+

  • neocatzon

at last ! release date !!

  • cmurph666

Never heard of it. I usually follow NIS games too…

Maybe I’ll have something else to play during breaks of KH: Birth by Sleep that day.

You might have known it better under it’s Japanese name Classic Dungeon, which it went by up until a month or so ago. Cladun is it’s English name, I guess think of it like Pokemon, where they decided to shave off a bunch of letters.

      • M’iau M’iaut

Yes, but in this case, I fear the change may be for the worst as not only is Classic Dungeon less confusing, it also would have enhanced the nostalgia vibe when showing off the 8 bit look.

Where as in your latter case, it would have been trouble from the start if we had a whole bunch of 10 year old boys (and adults) trying to show off their ‘pocket monsters’.

        • Code

I wasn’t really pro-Cladun, lol — I agree with you entirely, I find the name Classic Dungeon fine, Cladun, on the other hand, does little for me. I was just explaining where the name originates from.

          • M’iau M’iaut

My apologies if I came across like that.

With how easy it is to know about games throughout their development, or to know about Japanese titles, name changes can be a dangerous decision, as you might just mislead a customer or two that way. I know its been a popular thing throughout game development history, but the industry is at a weak point, and doing potential harm to itself is not a good thing.

Deadly Premonition was not such a left-field surprise if you had been keeping your eye on it when it was aka Rainy Woods.

          • Code

No worries >w<' Personally Classic Dungeon has far nicer vibe too it, then Cladun sounds like a casserole. If Nippon Ichi continues to call it Cladun, I think they should change the subtitle to "Cladun: This is not a Casserole"

My PSP is gonna wear out with all the time I’m spending with it lately, and it’s not stopping soon.

Ys VII, Cladun, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Ace Combat Joint Assault, KH Birth by Sleep, Phantasy Star Portable 2, Knights in the Nightmare… and that’s just stuff coming in the US in the next two months. Top notch stuff to come after that too – Third Birthday, Sora no Kiseki, two more Ys games, ZHP, Tactics Ogre. SO. MUCH. AWESOME. AHHHHHHH.

Perhaps my dream of actually finishing Persona 3 Portable is not so realistic with the incoming flood of games.

  • Jirin

That looks promising. Is it a turn based RPG or is it a Crystalis-style RPG?

    • Ren

Real time hack and slash top view mission based dungeon exploring rpg, from what I played. The mission based means that you have a hub where you can choose which dungeon or floor to play. Though the definition could be off. An interesting part is that you can choose to end the game at any moment you want by going back to where you came from.

  • Im so getting this game

  • MGSBigBoss

how much is this game on UMD or is this psn exclusive?

  • epiphaniesarefun

yay ^_^ day one buy for me :)

  • xavier axol

Yeah, picking up this little fellow for sure, but there is so much I can buy for a handheld, with valkyria chronicles 2, phantasy star portable 2 (which I all ready pre-order), y’s seven, god of war (love the pre-order bonus), kingdom hearts birth by sleep, parasite eve the third birthday, lord of arcana (looks like monster hunter clone), final fantasy tactics ogre ( now I never played the older version, so I don’t know much the game except that is a tactic game. Just hoping for a jeanne d’arc gameplay), half minute hero ( with it’s over the top play, create, share thing), and finally the best of them all, final fantasy agito xiii ( oh, what I would give to just see a trailer with the gameplay and all the aspects). I’m staring a job, double shift to be exact :( .oh poor me!

  • Feynman

It’s been a gooooood year for my PSP.

  • JustaGenericUser

Oh great, this game comes out the same month as Atelier Rorona. I won’t have the money for both, so one of them is going to lose a sale. I hope the devs and pubs still count sales when Christmas arrives. I want to play both!
