Students Of The Round’s Monsters Are Almost As Pretty As The Game’s Characters

By Spencer . September 21, 2010 . 1:01pm

Those are characters from Students of the Round, an upcoming Xbox 360 dungeon crawler from Experience. Below are some of the game’s monsters, which are just as detailed as the anime-esque elves.

The artwork looks stunning in battle. In the game you guide a to-be-named-by-the-player hero and a balanced party of fighters, paladins, healers, and wizards who are also enrolled in school. These students have to seal a demon originally defeated by the Knights of the Round.

Students of the Round was originally a PC game. Experience added a bunch of stuff to the Xbox 360 version including new monsters, items, dungeons, background music, and event visuals for an original story. These two pictures are from the new scenes.

Students of the Round comes out in February 2011 in Japan. Any North American publisher interested in localizing a dungeon crawler with high quality artwork?

Wow, the monster artwork is gorgeous. I wish there was a higher res one so I would make it my wallpaper.

  • andref

As long as it doesn’t have adult elements I’m sure it could get published. Besides that I would want to own this game

  • Lightthrower

Atlus i know you love dungeon crawlers and this one looks GORGEOUS! Please bring it here! :-D

  • Gorgeous! Kind of strange to call monsters that, but I enjoy seeing designs of creatures. The Wizardry DS games had really, really nice monster designs, too.

    • cj_iwakura

Atlus passing on Wizardry DS was downright criminal.

      • Ereek

Seconded. I’ve lost a lot of faith in Atlus’ non in-house releases in the last years.

I am glad we got The Dark Spire, though.

  • just xbox? D:

Totally need to play it first to get a feel for the quality… but who knows? :3

    • Hraesvelgr

      Nevermind, I am an idiot.

    • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

I’m so on the fence about these types of games. I appreciate high quality artwork, but I prefer action I can see in my fantasy games. I guess I’m not old-school enough.

      • That’s definitely a concern; there’s a lot of wonder about just how much appeal a game like this would actually have on the US market. Damn if it isn’t kind of pretty, though.

  • Day2Day

Even if there’s no PS3 release, It’d really be great to see them reconsider a PC release…

  • JustaGenericUser

If they localize it I hope they make it multiplat. I as a PS3 owner don’t want to miss out.

  • Well This One Looks Cool :) … But Will it Be Localized ? .

  • I dunno about publisher, but it looks like I’m booking February out… Not sure why, but I like school based stuff, cheesy as it can get…

    please release this stateside. :)

  • Bruce

most games released for the 360 in japan don’t get localized , i looked up the developer ( experience inc ) , all the games they made were japan only
