Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle 3DS Trailer

Aside from being the first Layton game for the Nintendo 3DS, Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracles also looks to be the first Layton game that Level 5 will self-publish in North America. While this isn’t confirmed yet, the game wasn’t included with Nintendo’s first-party assets at E3 earlier this year, and was, instead, in the third-party press kit.

I love the Professor Layton series. The music has such a nostalgic effect and the riddles are pretty challenging.

This game is one of the best game ever played on the ds itself.

This and the Ace Attorney are my favorite series on the DS, hope both of them would take advantage of the 3DS’ new capabilities.

Depends on what features. I hope 3D is not mandatory for some titles because that for me would stink. Not that I can’t watch 3D stuff (RE: Afterlife was awesome) but for gaming I would like it to be an option, as my eyes get tired/hurt after a while. I would like to still be able to game in 4 hour bursts.

This is the first time I managed to see the models fairly well, and I think they look great. I’m so excited for this game.

This looks great, though aside from better 3D graphics I hope the 3DS improves the compression method for the movies on the carts. Pixelated movies are not something I am a fan of, and in that area alone PSP puts the original DS to shame.

Does that mean Nintendo is still publishing Specter’s Flute here?

    • Good question! As of now Specter’s Flue has not been announced for North America. Level 5 said they were opening their US office this past September, though.
