Lollipop Chainsaw Might Be Coming Here Along With Kadokawa Games

By Spencer . October 1, 2010 . 11:42am

imageWith titles like Metal Max 3, Durarara!! 3-way Standoff, and Earth Seeker Kadokawa Games has been growing in Japan. None of their games have been released in North America yet, so I was pretty surprised to see a trademark for Lollipop Chainsaw in the USPTO.

I first discovered Lollipop Chainsaw in Japan’s trademark database, but ended up not writing about it. While we still don’t know what Kadokawa Games plans on using Lollipop Chainsaw for we’re talking about the trademark now since the publisher also filed it in North America.

This either indicates (1.) Lollipop Chainsaw is a key franchise and Kadokawa Games wants to protect it overseas or (2.) they’re thinking about releasing the game overseas.

We’re puzzled not so much by the idea of a Lollipop Chainsaw, although that would be a bizarre contraption. Which publisher will work with Kadokawa Games to bring their titles to the States is the question we’re mulling over.

I really hope Earth Seeker makes it over here. Looks really interesting.

Lollipop Chainsaw sounds like a moe-blob exploitation game. Not sure if want… Need to know more first.

I really want Earth Seeker localized, but I’m interested in whatever else they’ll bring over. I hope someone like XSeeD or Atlus picks up their titles and publishes them.

Yeah I agree, Earth Seeker looks nice. Although my first choice would be Metal Max 3. Never played any of the other games, but the game looks so quirky and it’s on my favourite system this gen.

I didn’t really check out Metal Max 3 (or the series in general), but now I’m interested in that too.

Earth Seeker reminds me of Opoona a little, so I still want that a tiny bit more, but now I am very hopeful for Metal Max 3 to come over.

(And same here for it being on my fav system this gen.)

  • Tales of VS., Tales of Hearts, and Tales of Graces have U.S. trademarks, and I don’t see any announcement of those releasing in the U.S…

    • Tales of is a franchise that mega corporation Namco Bandai wants to protect. Lollipop Chainsaw is a bit of an oddity to feel over protective about in western markets.

  • OMG Please Metal Max 3
