If you were thinking of importing gals fighter, Arcana Heart 3, Arc System Works have made that decision a little easier. In Japan, they’re rolling out a special edition of the game, that we now have an image of (although, ArcSys say it isn’t finalized).

The limited edition set will be available for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. It comes with a fibre-cloth mini-towel, a set of 24 lapel pins, and an art collection of anime cels.

Arcana Heart 3 is slated for this January. Here, have a trailer.

    That’s a lot of pink.

The artwork for this game is gorgeous (if you like that sorta thing), but the actual sprites and animation are only passable, compared to say, BlazBlue or KoFXIII. They should have gotten the promo artist to design the sprites… The gameplay is solid though, if not a bit on Melty Blood flashy side.

The game was designed for a relatively weak arcade board. And a game like Blazblue would probably be quite a bit more expensive, anyway.

      • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Nah, I wasn’t referring to sprite res or #of sprites per animation… it’s more that the way these characters are drawn, the stances, the way they animate. Kind of stiff and awkward. Not like Melty Blood. It runs on the Naomi board, right? Then I guess it’s more fair to compare it to GGX or Capcom vs SNK. Still don’t think it holds up though.

        • malek86

Nope, it’s on Examu EX-Board. A pretty low level solution. I mean, it uses a Via C7 and integrated S3 graphics. On the plus side, it should be very cheap, and i heard they actually have a home version. Not many games for it, though…

          • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Ah I see, thanks for the correction. What other games run on that board?

          • malek86

Not much. AH2, AH3, and another fighter named Daemon Bride. That’s it, at least for notable games.

wonder what the chances are of this getting localized.

If it does get localized, maybe Aksys won’t be lazy this time and will actually give it an English dub, so PS3 owners won’t have to download it like Battle Fantasia.

aksys wasn’t at fault the first time, you should put the blame on atlus but since the game didn’t do that well that was a smart move on their part.

    • Kris

I’m actually a bit nervous about this one’s chances, since Atlus published AH1, and that sold pretty terribly. I’m sure there will be issues with gaining the license and it’s a risky title to bring over, especially since it was built on old arcade hardware and Sony USA probably would veto AH3 because of its visuals, they’re real sticklers on stuff like that. :p

I hate to ask this question because I feel I should know it but…..Is the PS3 region free?

    • Code

      Yep, PS3 is regional free~!

        OH GOD YES. Thank you.

To be honest I think I’d lose all my manly dignity if I’m caught buying this but it looks rather good, the artwork is amazing.
