This Week In Sales: Tactics Ogre Keeps It Together

The week of November 8th – 14th saw the release of Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together, which debuted at a very respectable 176,000 units, taking the #1 spot on the sales chart.

Trailing behind it at #2 was Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 for the PlayStation 3. Meanwhile, Konami’s Magician’s Quest: The Merchant’s Store of Sorcery debuted at #5, and God of War: Ghost of Sparta at #13.

Comparing to the previous week’s chart, quite a few games dropped in position. The top-20 for the week was as follows:

    I see Vanquish has… relinquished its position on the charts.

      I’ll never forget this game ;_;

      • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

        As long as Mikami or Platinum lives, we will keep seeing awesome games like it.

        I hope Vanquish gets an extensive Black FRiday sale price; Im now kind of convinced to get the game.

  • Kris

    Man, I can’t wait for Tactics Ogre PSP. I’m hoping it brings about some more Ogre games, since too few people have played the series.

    Awesome, if TO continues to do well we may get another TO game.

  • urbanscholar

    Tactics Orge clinging together something fierce.

    Ooh! God of War!

  • Ladius

    I’m as happy for Tactics Ogre as I’m sad for Radiant Historia: the former could very well promote the development of new Matsuno games, the latter isn’t gonna satisfy Atlus’s 138k sales prevision any time soon :
    I hope Radiant Historia gets a chance to shine in the west as I have read only great things about it… Come on Atlus USA, I have been rather disaffectionate at you this last year for your decrease of jrpg localizations, prove me wrong by bringing us this gem ;__;

    • cj_iwakura

      Starting to think Atlus are done with JRPGs. They want that WRPG cash now.

        Have they announced any Western RPG’s, though? I mean Demon’s Souls was close to being one, but it’s still Japanese-made. Then there’s that Crusade game or whatever it was called, but that seemed more action-orientated than RPG.

      • Ladius

        Looking at this fiscal year’s announcements (distribution of Naruto games, MMORPGs by Rosso Index, western dd game and the retail action game about the 4th Crusade) it seems indeed that Atlus USA thinks that JRPGs are only a small, minor part of its new lineup.
        As I stated, though, I really hope they prove us wrong by announcing some titles in the next months, starting with the obvious Catherine and then proceeding with RH and some non-Atlus jrpg.

    Kirbys Epic Yawn is falling. Naruto Shippuden is still hanging on, near its first 100K.

      That where it will stop too!

    Unfortunately, TO probably won’t get half those sails over in the US. Glad to see it’s at least doing well over there: From what I played of it, its like Tactics, but faster. And that’s not even getting into all the intricacies and new twists.

  • Aiddon

    The Ogre Battle Saga MUST be concluded!

      Heck, I’d be just thrilled with a remake of March of the Black Queen.

        This^

  • Hraesvelgr

    For once, the Japanese sales chart doesn’t disappoint me. Too bad TO will be pirated to hell and back outside of Japan, while games that don’t really need the sales will be bought without a second thought.

    UNS2 haven’t even reached 100k yet, wut?

    • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

      If we count the xbox 360 version as well, then it has passed 100K in JPN. The game should be at 500K worldwide by now…

    Radiant Historia is holding on by a thread, but Solatorobo is gone. :(
