Disaster Report 4 Demo Coming To PSN, Final Game Will Have Compass Collecting

By Spencer . November 30, 2010 . 4:38pm

wall_800The bad news is Disaster Report 4 won’t make it into stores this February. Irem pushed the game’s release date back to March 10, 2011.

The good news is Irem will distribute a demo that lets players explore the office district, the starting area for Disaster Report 4. Like previous games in the series, players will be able to collect compasses like a ballerina and four leaf clover.

Disaster Report 4 also has costumes to find including: casual clothes, work clothes, surfer style, convenience store employee, high school girl’s uniform, and a sexy bikini.

  • Costumes are the best item in games, I love adorning the character in dashingly amazing outfits, lol. Nothing is better than having the character go through levels in swimsuits, lol, which reminds me of Persona 3, I think Im set on having the characters all rock their swimming attire, lol, so cool, (though Ken doesnt have one :( )

I may have to use my account to check out this demo though.

  • i hope they dont push back the game more, i wanna taste the demo…. It will be hard to know if this will get localized

Maybe since Spelunkers HD got localized means they are becoming more interested in localization. Developers and publishers should consider making PSN demo’s to U.S. and EU regions to research overseas interest

Huh I didn’t even realize that Irem did Spelunkers HD. Maybe you’re right and that is a sign. And that demo idea is great.

EDIT: Wow there was an article on Spelunkers HD and I missed it.

I doubt we’ll see another Disaster Report reaching western shores, the first two entries released on PS2 did poorly in US/EU

Let’s see. The likely candidates to localize this would be Atlus, Xseed, Aksys, and Ignition. How packed are their schedules? Agetec fell off the radar, and NISA doesn’t do this kind of stuff. Ubisoft does publish the odd Japanese game here and there, but it’s got its own disaster game coming up (I Am Alive) so that’s unlikely. Maybe if that game turns out successful one of the localization companies would be more interested in this game.I got a J-PSN account recently so worst comes to worst at least I’ll have the demo.
EDIT: I swear I’ve posted this comment before or something like it on another Disaster Report article.

I’d hardly call it bad news that it was pushed back some 15 days. Now it has some breathing room between all the PS3 titles releasing on the 24th. I’d say that is good news for all involved. Less chance the title will get looked over for something else.

Can’t wait to try the demo.

We still need Disaster Report 3 in the other regions!

I want to play this game so bad my soul hurts. When do Japanese demos usually hit relative to retail release? Anyone know?

Also, I love it when games let you be female. Not only do the story dynamics/interactive implications change noticeably, I don’t have to stare at a guy’s backside for 30 hours.

  • PrinceHeir

can’t wait to play this game :D

  • Yukito

I can’t wait for the demo. The game sounds so great. So different from the everyday stuff we have nowadays. Item packs quality, so I really hope we get it. Worst case, I will import it, but I hope I don’t have to. Already posted on Aksys’s website asking for them to. Here’s hoping. =/

  • Xeahnort

Disaster Report 3 on PSP was awesome. Too bad I can’t read Japanese

  • Jugiatsu

    Steambot Chronicles 2? Please Irem?

  • Jugiatsu

Steambot Chronicles 2? Please Irem? Please?

  • “high school girl’s uniform”
Bet that automatically means there’s also a school swimsuit. LOL

  • Glad their polishing the game, i want them to do well! Wonder if this Disaster Report will make it stateside??
