First Screenshots Of Sailor Moon: La Luna Splende

By Ishaan . January 7, 2011 . 10:28am

Earlier this week, Namco Bandai Games Europe announced Sailor Moon: La Luna Splende for the Nintendo DS in Italy.

Details on the game are still scarce, but judging by these screenshots, there’s a healthy amount of platforming involved. La Lunda Splende is slated for a Spring 2011 release.

  • On the bright side, at least I don’t need to learn Japanese first to play a cool looking anime game.

    • Jellybit

I think you replied to the wrong article.

    • puchinri

But now you need to learn Italian. (Unless you already know it.)

    • Eh, just print or memorize a hiragana/katakana chart and fake it. It’s what I do!

  • Hey theres my Mercury! :D

    • Yukito

      And there’s my Venus. :)

Well, a platformer is a good genre, but I have a bad feeling about it. I was hoping something on the lines of “Sailor Moon: Another Story” but as said, great to see it getting a game this gen overall. I hope it does well enough.

  • Looks like a DSi game….can’t believe there was a time in my life when the thing I wanted the most was that obscure SM 3DO game. The PSX one was terrible!

  • lol I still have the RPG one in Super Famicom (original imported), Sailor Moon Another Story, with box and manual.

  • Oh dear, that looks terrible.

  • Testsubject909

Is there a small animation scene of a semi-reverse-strip-tease censored-nude transformation sequence?

    That could boost sales…

But nevertheless, I wouldn’t play this.

  • cj_iwakura

    A platformer. Well.

(Uh, what the heck did they do to Kunzite/Malachite’s name?)

    • kariohki

It is an Italian game, they have a lot of name changes compared to the English version (that’s saying something)

  • I’m surprised Malachite/Kunzite’s in it since I thought La Luna Splende was the name for Sailor Moon R, but I’d still play this if it came stateside…heck might even import it!

An Another Story rerelease wouldn’t be bad either. :)

  • PrinceHeir

i still respect sailor moon as a quality anime, don’t care what everyone says.

as for the game well what can you expect? it’s sailor moon :P

    • Joanna

Read the manga, tis much better in my humble opinion.

  • Tokyo Guy

Wow…this is exactly what one expects when such a product comes into existence. It looks almost as awful as the Atari (?) made Dragon Ball A-RPG games. How hard is it to make a decent looking platforming game? Seriously. I mean people with hardly any skills whatsoever are making gorgeous looking stuff for smartphones for crying out loud. This is just pitiful.

  • raymk

Guess Bamco really hit rock bottom with this one. i mean coming from them i expected some quailty anime game but this is a blow to sailormoon fans. I’m glad its popularity is coming back though.

    • Hraesvelgr

Well, frankly, “quality” and “anime game” go together less than 5% of the time, I’d say, so I wouldn’t say it’s too surprising.
