Bust-A-Move 3D Leaps Out With 3D Gimmicks

By Spencer . January 11, 2011 . 9:56am

imageThe first Nintendo 3DS game from Square Enix is a Taito title. Leap Out! Bust-a-Move 3D is Puzzle Bobble with Bub leaping out from the screen.

You can see the 3D effects by playing the game on "gimmick bubble," which adds a sense of depth to the bubble matching game.

Short on time? There’s an abbreviated "100 second Bubble" mode. Got time to spare? Then "Endless Bubble" is for you. Aside from the extra modes, it looks like Bust-a-Move 3D sticks the tried and true bubble popping formula Taito developed over a decade ago.

I must admit I like Bust-a-move. However, my skills at it are horrible. And if I had to choose one puzzle game i suck at, then I’d rather have Puyo Puyo.

I wonder if their next Puyo Puyo game is planned for 3DS. I do reckon there’s a good chance.

  • With the franchise so readily available at local stores, Ill just stick to playing it there. I dont think I would like to buy the game…especially since the local machines give out such amazing gumballs for playing ^_^, and they roll down one of these snazzy looking ramps, and spirals, and helices, and even a loop, its pretty awesome!

Nice to see the international law requiring all video game systems to get a Bust A Move is still being obeyed.

  • Different clothing, same old Bust a Move. Sorry guys but you peaked at the PlayStation era so not really interested in this.

Too bad as it looks – presentation wise – to have a certain charm.

I’d like to see something like Bubble Bobble 4 or such.
